As Teamfight Tactics (TFT) fans eagerly await news on Set 9’s upcoming theme and release date, one artist took it upon themselves to make a meme a reality. So enters Foodfight Tactics.
Over the past few months, the TFT fandom has made on-and-off memes about Foodfight Tactics being a game theme, to the annoyance and amusement of TFT devs like Mortdog himself. However, Mortdog has denied any possibility of the punny name turning into an actual set.
To bait fans eager for Set 9 news, Reddit User zrmld created and posted a mock version of Foodfight Tactics on Reddit. Using the same chibi style and shapes as TFT Little Legends, zrmld drew a whole buffet of adorable avatars.
From tasty burgers to fierce pastries, zrmld’s versions of these edible Little Legends are quite charming. Unfortunately, though, they’ll likely never come to pass.
Instead, based on Riot Games’ Teamfight Tactics roadmap, fans theorize that Set 9’s theme will relate to Runeterra’s lore. After all, the image behind TFT Set 8 and 8.5 hinted towards the monsters, heroes, and voidlings inside its champion pool. It’s fair to guess that the map of Runeterra (the world where the League of Legends games are set) might relate to the theme. For example, they could make traits and classes out of Runeterra regions and their corresponding League of Legends champions. In that case, you could possibly build your board around Demacians, Yordles, Noxians, Piltover, etc.

Fans will have to wait and see a few more days to know exactly what Set 9 will be. They shouldn’t have to wait long, though. With TFT Set 9 releasing on June 14, the PBE should open up any day now.
