The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has its first any% speedrun completed in just under an hour. As you will see in the video below, YouTube user Zdi6923 completed the game from its opening moments to grabbing Princess Zelda’s hand in 59 minutes, 22 seconds, and 33 nanoseconds.
Watching speedrunners play Tears of the Kingdom is truly impressive when you compare it to your own gameplay. We have spent so much time going around the land trying to find various materials and fumbling around in the menus, while this player is held up by unskippable cutscenes. The way they destroy Ganondorf in the final boss fight truly makes us feel insignificant with the way we were constantly eating Gloom reduction meals.
Needless to say, this Tears of the Kingdom speedrun is on a completely different level from us common folk. The longest part of this speedrun is spent in the Great Sky Island tutorial area only because there is no known way to skip that area yet. Whenever that happens, we will see speedruns finish the game in under a half hour, similar to Breath of the Wild’s timers.
If you want to see more speedruns from Zdi6923, this Japanese player has more Zelda speedruns up on their YouTube channel. They have various Breath of the Wild stream vods available, including beating that game in under 25 minutes just weeks ago. If you are a fan of this kind of content, you will definitely want to watch out for them in the future.
