Today, PlayStation is holding its highly anticipated State of Play at 5 pm EST. With this announcement came high expectations for what brand new games could be revealed on this grand stage. Pair that with a recent rumor that PlayStation may be toying with the idea of reviving long dormant IP and many fans were eager to see if this would come to be. While it is imperative you take this with a massive grain of salt, a new potential tease has fans buzzing that an old thief just might be gearing up for one more heist.
Don’t Try to be Sly
Once the news broke that PlayStation was mulling over older IP, PlayStation fans were quick to voice their opinion that a new Sly Cooper game should be at the top of the list. Believe it or not it has been around 13 years since we last saw Sly in Sly Cooper 4: Thieves in time. And that game marked a passing of the torch for Sucker Punch as they passed the franchise off to SanZaru Games.
Fast forward to 2026, and new findings from the Sly Cooper subreddit might’ve just connected the dots to a potential big score. This is where fans noticed that Sanzaru Games opened a new studio called Sneaky Devil Studios, which (while it is a big stretch) may just be a reference to the end of Sly 3: Among Thieves.
The subreddit post in question also brings up a now-deleted screenshot of Sly Cooper’s voice actor, Kevin Miller, congratulating Co-Founder Mat Kraemer, with Kraemer replying, “Awe gee, thanks for the kind words, we should work together again.” And while we are in the realm of delusion, Team Asobi just posted an Astro Bot Clip on X featuring Sly Cooper on the day of Sony’s State of Play.
I’m Not Going Crazy, You Are!
When you lay out all the evidence things suddenly become more and more real. With the subtle nods to the games and recent rumors of various dormant PlayStation IPs being revived it seems like the perfect storm. Long story short here to avoid sounding like a lunatic, I do think there is a solid chance we see Sly once more, but it’s no longer a matter of IF but when we see him once more.
