EA reveals new property-owners expansion pack — but is the rent worth the price?

EA starts this November with a brand new contract — a renter’s agreement perfect for you and your sims. Say hello to The Sims 4 For Rent, the newest expansion pack in the simsverse launches on December 7, 2023. In this game, you’ll be able to steal from your neighbors, have new interactions with your fellow sims, and manage an entire rental property filled with all the maintenance work and mold you could ever dream of. If you want to, you can happily turn your sim save into the perfect rental property simulator with an entire faux-cast of Friends living in your apartments. Only then can The Sims 4 world become your landlording oyster.

Fans have been begging for an expansion pack like For Rent for years now. Many Simmers wanted more versatile ways to work with apartment complexes, property management, and mischief for a while. However, a notable amount of players also think that these kinds of additions should have come sooner and with a smaller price tag. In the base game, perhaps, or the City Living expansion. For example, several of the game interactions in this expansion pack even overlap with some City Living features. This includes being bothered by nosy neighbors or paying rent. It’s not as egregious as the infamous My First Pet stuff pack that didn’t make any sense without the Cats and Dogs expansion, but this For Rent pack has its flaws.

If you have your reservations, the next The Sims 4 sale should be coming soon. You might be able to get the property of your dreams for a great price.

Also, if you purchase The Sims 4 For Rent anytime between November 2 and January 18, you’ll get EA’s exclusive Street Eats Digital Content, which allows you to bring street food right to your sim’s doorstep.
