How to open the Toy Chest in Baldur’s Gate 3
If you want to open the Toy Chest in Baldur’s Gate 3, there are a few methods of doing so. It is important to note that the Toy Chest actually signals that there is a Harper Stash nearby. You won’t be opening the Toy Chest and will instead be using it to reveal the bigger, much more impressive chest.

To reveal the Harper Stash, perform one of the following actions:
- Interact with the Toy Chest and perform a check. On Success, the Harper Stash will appear.
- Cast the Light cantrip on the Toy Chest.
- Cast the Produce Flame cantrip.
- Throw the Toy Chest a few times.
- Cast the Daylight spell.
As you can see, there are multiple ways to interact with the Toy Chest. Once the Harper Stash appears, you will need to disarm any traps on it and then open it using lockpicks. The checks on the Harper Stash are very difficult to beat so make sure you have a character who is skilled in Sleight of Hand. Specifically, you will need to beat a 20 on both the disarm trap roll and the lockpicking roll. The Harper Stash will contain a few items with one of them being a scroll of evidence.
