The Final Fantasy series is well known for its memorable cast of characters in just about every entry. Even though a new group is established each time, Square Enix has the ability to make people care for their characters consistently. That said, some people prefer to make their characters for long adventures like this. Does Final Fantasy 16 have character creation?
Is there character creation in FF16?
No, there is no character creation in Final Fantasy 16. You will be put into the shoes of Clive Rosfield, the main protagonist, on his long journey throughout the game. There isn’t even much customization to this character. Just the standard equipment and skill choices as you advance, but his looks stay consistent throughout.
Outside of the MMO Final Fantasy 14, this series is pretty steadfast in not letting players make their own characters. It makes sense because Square Enix is trying to tell a specific story. You are being put into the roles of its characters, not injecting yourself into this world. While people love that latter situation, not every game needs to adhere to that.

How Good Is It? Final Fantasy XVI
As a character, we enjoy Clive, so we think it is for the best that Final Fantasy 16 doesn’t have character creation. If it did, past favorites like Cloud and Squall might not be as heavily revered as they are today. This gives Clive more of a chance to be a memorable character for everyone going forward.
We doubt that any longtime fans of the Final Fantasy series are disappointed that they can’t make their own character in FF16. As noted above, plenty of characters from past games have established themselves because Square Enix is good at delivering these stories. You can expect that kind of dedication from Clive.
