2023 is filled with video games that take a long time to complete. As the medium grows, so do the stories and completion times on these massive adventures. You can expect the same to be true with any Final Fantasy game. This isn’t a series you get into to finish in a weekend. You want that experience to burn for a while. With that said, how long is Final Fantasy 16?
How long to beat FF16?
Final Fantasy 16 is a decently long game, but not nearly as expansive as other RPGs you will play. Typically, people beat the main story after about 35 hours. Early reports are saying it took them anywhere between 30 and 40 hours to reach end credits.
As of this writing, it is launch day for the game, so all we have to go off of are early reviewers and testers. We do not have a number for you if you want the full 100% complete experience. That said, we don’t expect it to be exceedingly long.

Final Fantasy 16 is not as much of an open world as the previous game, Final Fantasy 15. While not a strictly linear experience, Square Enix took a different approach toward level creation. The first few hours of the game, in particular, are spent watching cutscenes more than playing the game.
With all that said, we would be surprised if the full completion time of Final Fantasy 16 is much more than 50 hours. You can explore a few areas, but there is not much to see in them. You are here for the experience Square Enix made. You’re not making your own adventure like with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
