Sea of Stars is an RPG inspired by many past classic games. Among the features that bring this title together are the many characters you will meet along the journey. As is the case with many popular RPGs, some of these people can join you. What is the limit, though? Here is how many party members you can have in Sea of Stars.
How many party members in Sea of Stars?
Sea of Stars will allow you to play with up to six party members. However, not all of them are available immediately, with three of the six being unlocked via story progression. Luckily, none of them are missable, with the main story adding all of them to your party. No need to worry about missing them in a side quest or anything.
While six people are in the party, only three can be active at a time. Luckily, there is no penalty for swapping characters out. You can do this both inside and out of combat without spending a turn. Additionally, all experience is shared between the entire party, regardless if they are active or not, so no one gets left behind. While Sea of Stars is very inspired by classic RPGs, it also gets rid of common annoyances from those games.
Just about everyone tends to pick out their favorite party members when playing a game like Sea of Stars. That makes it important for the game to not penalize players for using those choices. The experience being pooled together makes it so you can not use a character and not worry about them being severely underpowered if you need them in the future. It also cuts out a lot of wasted time grinding to level those characters.
