Disney Dreamlight Valley has plenty of different materials, ingredients, and gemstones to collect. Thanks to the addition of Eternity Isle, there are now even more items to find. One of the many gemstones added with the expansion is Alexandrite — a rare gemstone that only appears in specific areas.

All Alexandrite locations in Disney Dreamlight Valley
If you want to get your hand on Alexandrite in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you need to unlock The Wastes and The Oasis in the Glittering Dunes Biome of Eternity Isle. Before you reach this area, you will need to unlock the Glittering Dunes using the Royal Hourglass. This happens as part of the story. With The Plains unlocked you can unlock The Wastes for 4,000 Mist and The Oasis for 6,000 Mist.
If you are following the story of Eternity Isle, you will unlock The Wastes as part of unlocking Gaston. Alexandrite is a difficult gemstone to find. You will most likely find Garnets before you find Alexandrite when mining the rock spots in both areas of the biome.
To help locate Alexandrite, you can bring a resident with you that has the mining role. This will increase your chances of getting gemstones. Make sure you also boost your energy to the point where it is yellow as this will also increase your chances of getting gems. Both combined should increase your chances of getting this gemstone without too much effort. Remember, rock spots will respawn after about five minutes so keep mining and you will eventually get the gem you are looking for. As a bonus, you will get a bunch of Tin from these areas as well.
