Starfield is quickly approaching. It has been a long time since the game was announced, but players will soon be able to travel the galaxy in the next giant RPG adventure. In the past few years, Bethesda was acquired by Xbox, and thus, all future games developed by the studio can be expected to be on Xbox consoles and PCs. While this game is confirmed to be an Xbox exclusive, will it come to the last generation? Is Starfield on Xbox One?

Can you play Starfield on Xbox One?

Unfortunately for those who have not jumped to Xbox Series X yet, Starfield will not have a dedicated Xbox One version. However, there is still a way to play the game on your console, but it’s not recommended for everyone. If you are a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber, you can stream Starfield on your Xbox One. This essentially allows you to play the Series X version of the game on your older console.

While this is a very good feature, we don’t necessarily recommend having this be your sole way to play the game for dozens of hours. For starters, you need a good internet connection. xCloud streaming has greatly improved in recent years, but you will likely see stuttering, crashes, and other issues. Additionally, this can use up your monthly data caps and cause you to pay a small fortune on your internet bill if you are not careful.

We highly recommend upgrading to an Xbox Series X or a PC capable of running Starfield to play this game. Those will give a much better overall experience than an Xbox One, and it is a good idea to make the upgrade so you can play future games, as the last generation progressively gets left behind.
