Pikmin 4 is a strategic combat game that requires you to coordinate your Pikmin in order to take down various enemies and collect treasure. Throughout the game, you will go through different caves and caverns to find missing castaways. Often, these caves have a boss waiting for you at the end.
If you have managed to find the Engulfed Cavern, you have most likely run into the Roller Wraith. Those who have played previous Pikmin games will recognize this menacing foe from Pikmin 2. While this boss may seem tough, it is actually pretty simple to defeat if you know what you are doing. This guide will show you how to defeat the Roller Wraith in Pikmin 4.
Pikmin 4 – How to beat the Roller Wraith
The Roller Wraith is the strange, clear enemy that uses cylindrical stones to roam around the Engulfed Cavern in the Serene Shores area of Pikmin 4. Throughout most of the cave, you won’t be able to fight the Roller Wraith and will instead be at its mercy as it roams the different levels. Once you reach the final floor, you will be able to face the Roller Wraith.
The key to defeating the Roller Wraith is using the Purple Pikmin. You can get Purple Pikmin right before the boss fight entrance by using the Candypop Flowers. Once you have Purple Pikmin, head into the arena and wait for the Roller Wraith to spawn. Don’t stand in front of the enemy. Instead, stand to the side and launch the Purple Pikmin at it. Hitting it with these Pikmin will cause the Roller Wraith to become tangible by turning purple.
During this time, throw your other Pikmin at the Roller Wraith and destroy its wheels. Recall your Pikmin before the Roller Wraith can toss them off. Repeat the previous steps until the Roller Wraith’s wheels are destroyed.
Without its wheels, the Roller Wraith will run off. Chase it down and use the Purple Pikmin again to turn the Wriath solid and then throw your other Pikmin to damage it. Revall your Pikmin and repeat the process until the Roller Wraith is defeated.
