Do you want to use your Boost Pack in Starfield? Boost Packs are important tools that grant you benefits both in and out of combat. You can utilize them to get around, or just let them help you passively.
Unfortunately, you can’t just use your Boost Pack right away in Starfield. You instead need to work for it. If you choose the right path, you can become a Boost Pack expert. Here is how to use your Boost Pack in Starfield.
How to use Boost Pack in Starfield
If you want to use a Boost Pack in Starfield, you need to get the Boost Pack Training skill. This skill can be found under the tech tree of the skills menu. Taking this skill will not only allow you to use your Boost Pack, but it will also upgrade your Boost Pack.
There are four ranks to the Boost Pack Training skill:
- You can now utilize Boost Packs
- Using a Boost Pack expends less fuel
- Boost Pack fuel regenerates more quickly
- Doubles precious bonuses
To actually use your Boost Pack in the field, you need to press the spacebar on PC or the Y button on Xbox Series X/S while in the air. There is a short recharge between uses of the Boost Pack so keep this in mind.
What is a Boost Pack in Starfield?
The Boost Pack is a glorified double jump in Starfield. You can use it to reach higher platforms or to travel a bit farther but it won’t help you travel great distances. Thanks to its short usage and its recharge rate, you won’t be able to go very far with it.
Outside of its jumping mechanic, Boost Packs act as armored backpacks with perks. Each of these packs will grant you bonuses based on its rarity and type. Some of these even offer very good damage resistance to help you from getting killed quickly.
