The Baldur’s Gate 3 community has weighed in on which characters they’d like to see make it to Baldur’s Gate 4. Keep in mind, that Baldur’s Gate 4 has not officially been announced, however. that hasn’t stopped fans of the third installment from talking about it. There is no denying that Baldur’s Gate 3 made headlines when it was released back in August 2023. Since then, many have been addicted to the game’s many possibilities, amusing storylines, and fantastic gameplay (ourselves included).
With all that being said, a recent Reddit post has fans of the game talking about who they want to see in the next installment. While many have pointed out that potentially any character could come back, there have been some good suggestions we feel compelled to point out.
Two lovable little Tieflings seem to be at the top of the list of potential future companions. If you haven’t guessed it, we are talking about Mol and Arabella, both of whom have compelling storylines that make for great additions to Baldur’s Gate 4 or potential future DLC.
Why Mol should be a companion
Mol is a character that you meet in the Druid Grove near the start of the game. If you help out her friends, she will give you a mission to stop the Druids’ ritual. Later on, she can be found making a deal with Raphael at Last Light Inn. Past that, she can once again be found in Baldur’s Gate. If you kill Raphael and tell her about it, she will be pretty upset with you because you killed her Patron. If you don’t tell her, she will help you out in the final fight with a buff.
Fans believe that she could be a potential playable character in the future as either a rogue or a warlock depending on which route Larian wants to take her story. Mol could potentially be a rogue-lock even. It would be a deserving continuation of the character’s story to see her make an appearance after years of travel and misdeeds.
Why Arabella should be a companion
We admit that Arabella deserves a bit more than she got in Baldur’s Gate 3 and her story could definitely continue in Baldur’s Gate 4. First of all, you rescue her from the druids in act one. During act two, you find Arabella’s parents in the House of Healing. When you tell her that her parents are dead, she will seek out Withers at your camp. From here, you learn that she has magic potential. Finally, you can find her in the lower city sewers in Baldur’s Gate. Here, she will tell you that the Weave will guide her.
From all of that, it is obvious that she is hinted to return at a later time. That later time could potentially be Baldur’s Gate 4 where we see her as a sorcerer. We highly doubt that Larian would have any other route for her except for maybe a warlock if Withers is her Patron.
What do you think about these potential companions in the next installment in the series? When the game eventually gets announced, it will be amazing to see them make a return should Larian agree with the fans.
