The legendary perk system in Fallout 76 is pretty nice but it needs a bit of a rework. This system has been in the game for a while and it gives players some additional perks to equip in exchange for Perk Points. These legendary perks are pretty powerful as well with one giving your punches explosive force and other being able to increase your SPECIAL stats. At this point, the use of legendary perks is almost necessary if you want a strong build.
User Jlsepulcre took to Reddit to express their thoughts on the current legendary perk system and many agree it needs a bit of a change. In the post, Jlselulcre argues that it is “difficult to Max legendary cards” while they play. They also don’t like needing to spend multiple perk points each time they want to switch perks when they already have them unlocked.
One user commented, “More way to earn those perk points would be nice for those who aren’t grinding XP. Reward them from expeditions or something.” Another user added, “Maybe not directly from expeditions but for gold bullion or other currencies.” This would be a great way to spend the extra Gold Bullion we have burning a hole in our vault uniform pockets.
A player commented, “Yeah, myself running 3 different builds in the same character, I have spent a lot of level-ups, and being lvl 450 and dont have my legendaries maxed yet.” They are in the same boat as us. We have not had the opportunity to max out the legendary perks at all because we are interested in running multiple builds. There needs to be a way to get more Perk Points by either purchasing them using currencies or by completing events. It would also be nice to get rid of the requirement to spend Perk Points each time you want to change out perks that you have already unlocked.
