Helldivers 2 has been a rollercoaster of a game when it comes to patches. One patch will fix many issues and then the next will break everything that was fixed. It is hard to tell when and if the game will be in a great state thanks to all of the issues it has had. One of the biggest issues fans have is the way things have been balanced. It is so bad that the game’s balancing has become a meme at this point with many saying not to like a weapon because it will be nerfed into oblivion.
Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Johan Pilestedt recently replied to a comment on X agreeing with those who talked about the nerfing of assault rifles comparing them to “pea shooters.” While this appeared positive, there was no confirmation about the push for balancing until now.
An Arrowhead Game Studios developer who goes by Evil-Bosse on Discord posted a few responses letting everyone the “CEO is doing a major push on balancing.” They went on to say that there are “a lot of meetings and a lot of chats going on.” Later on, they stated that the “CEO made a statement that there’s going to be some major focus on balancing and making things good.”
Hopefully, we will see these balances take effect soon as many have complained about the latest weapons in Helldivers 2 that were added with the Polar Patriots Warbond. A poll even showed that over 40% of players don’t like this new Warbond. Past weapons have also seen major nerfs such as the Eruptor which went from being able to one-shot some enemies to requiring three or sometimes even four shots to down larger foes. At least the Polar Patriots assault rifle isn’t the greatest so it won’t matter when that one eventually gets nerfed.
