The debate of whether the Helldivers 2 devs should keep pushing out Warbonds has been going on since for months. With the release of Polar Patriots, it has become more apparent than ever that fans are not happy with the new content. After tons of nerfs and poor releases, players are tired of lackluster weapons and armors. Polar Patriots had fans excited until it was released. Now, many are wishing that it hadn’t been.
We’ve already talked about how Arrowhead dropped the ball with the design of the Polar Patriots Warbond. At the time, many were voicing their concerns about the Warbond. Now, that number has increased, and a recent poll (while not complete) proves that Arrowhead should spend more time testing and working on better content.
The poll in was posted on the Helldivers 2 Discord server by community manager Baskinator. The poll has received over 11,000 votes so far with 5,320 of them showing that fans don’t like the new Warbond. Another 3,006 votes show that fans would like fewer Warbonds and more patches. Far fewer players said that they would like more stuff in the Warbonds and only three percent said the Warbond is good.
Reddit user sole21000 posted about the poll and the reception has not been positive. One user commented on the poll saying, “Why even bother with the ice theme at all if they knew nothing in the Warbond matches the theme?” Another said, “Ah, yes, the anti-slipping boot spikes that do not make you not slip on ice in ice biomes.”
Other users offered ideas to change the armor such as fur around the helmets, ice boots that actually grip, and even a freeze ray. Each of these additions would be better than what we ended up getting in the latest Warbond. We have said it before, it is time to take a break with Warbonds or let fans help with the designs. After all, one fan created a Warbond design that is better than anything Arrowhead has done so far.
