Scoreboards have been around in Fallout 76 for a long time. Instead of having a normal season pass, players used to make their way around a board game, gaining little bits of a story while unlocking new cosmetic items, gear, and wasteland bonuses. Of course, the America’s Playground update changed that, and the Dance With the Devil scoreboard is anything but a board game. Instead, Bethesda decided to make it like every other season pass out there; dull pages of items you purchase yourself with tickets you collect in the game.
In a recent post on Reddit by Flabbatorix, players joined together to talk about how the scoreboard is “a tedious grind.” We have to agree. After playing for a while on the new scoreboard, it feels like we have barely progressed while the old scoreboards felt way more interactive.
One user commented saying, “Frankly, I like the map better. It felt more like opening gifts. The current way feels more like shopping for them.” Again, that is how most season passes work and it is sad to see that Fallout 76 has copied/pasted what other games are doing. Another user commented, “I also hate this new scoreboard. I play the game a lot and I have never hit level 150. I do usually hit 115-120 range. I despise this level 150 grind. Honestly, it’s gonna turn me off playing. Plus like stated above I do not like having to scroll through all the pages every time.”

Some users have even stated that they miss having scoreboard posters. One user said, “I’m bummed about not having a season poster anymore. I got to level 100 and was like, “So now what?”. I usually go over level 100 for the prizes but the 150 doesn’t seem worth it.” Bethesda should fix these changes before more people get turned away from Fallout 76. It would be a shame considering the record-high numbers it has had recently.
