The Fallout 76 Skyline Valley map expansion has finally been added to the public test server (PTS) and it adds a lot of new content to the game. The map expansion for the game was teased back in December 2023. During this time, it was revealed that the map would expand into Virginia and the Shenandoah National Park. This comes at a time when more people have been appearing in Appalachia thanks to the Fallout TV show.

On April 18, 2024, Bethesda officially announced the addition of the map on the public test server via the company’s news site. The site details known issues that you might experience with enemies as well as a new event called Dangerous Pastimes.

Everything added with the map expansion

The map expansion adds a new region to the existing Fallout 76 map called Skyline Valley. This is based on the real-life area in Virginia called Skyline Drive. This new region includes several new locations as well as a new event. New foes called the Lost make an appearance in the region. These enemies are Vault Dwellers from Vault 63 who appear to be electrified and wandering the wastelands of Appalachia in a daze.

During the new event, you must kill the Lost Dwellers around an electric pylon to charge it. The event is very fast-paced with tons of enemies appearing. We recommend you start this event around level 50 when you have a complete build. After all, we are level 57 in the PTS and died several times with a full team at our side.

Every location in the map expansion

There are a lot of new locations for you to explore with new NPCs. Keep in mind that not all of these areas are accessible yet and won’t be until the map expansion update is released. The following locations are in the Skyline Valley region of the map:

  • Big Meadows Gas Well
