Sony has been pretty slow in making its next portable gaming console ever since the PS Vita was discontinued the Nintendo Switch has taken over as the king of mobile gaming consoles. The next PlayStation mobile option was announced during the PlayStation Showcase in the form of a remote play device, but it appears one fan just couldn’t wait long enough to get their hands on one. Instead, they went ahead and made their own portable console with all the power of the PS5 because, well, it is a PS5. Check out the Frankenstein’d system below.
Reddit user Vaeddermandenis shared their creation on Reddit yesterday. It may not look pretty, but it is functional and allows for some entertainment on the go. Now they just need to get a power brick so they can play it during road trips.

The setup of the portable machine is fairly simple; it is a PlayStation 5 system hooked up to a G-Story 4K HDR portable monitor. The monitor appears to be connected to the system with metal brackets on either end. Despite the obvious flaws in the design, the idea is rather nice. After all, many gamers have experienced the annoyance of dragging a system over to a friend’s house. This simply makes things a bit easier to manage.
For those who don’t want to mash together their own portable console, Sony unveiled the next mobile system called Project-Q. This handheld system will allow you to play your PS5 games remotely with controls that look just like a PS5 controller.
The handheld system was revealed during the PlayStation Showcase on May 24. There is no information as to when this new system will be released or whether or not it will be hitting store shelves this fall in time for the holidays.
