Players have always asked the Helldivers 2 devs to add new mechanics and features to the game. Since the game was released, there have been a ton of suggestions to make the game better. For instance, some have been asking for melee weapons while others have been asking for new types of Stratagems. Most of the time, Arrowhead responds to these requests by saying maybe. That isn’t the case when it comes to getting saved loadouts in Helldivers 2. Those who want this feature might not be seeing it for a long time.
Saved loadouts are very common in games like Helldivers 2. Shooter games of any kind typically allow you to save a loadout so you can quickly switch to it later on before a match. For instance, Call of Duty offers several loadout options. Since Helldivers 2 is a game where you need to change up your weapons to match the threat you’re going up against, it would only make sense to have some pre-saved loadouts.
Community manager Twinbeard was asked about loadouts on the official Helldivers 2 Discord server and his response was not positive. He stated that “saved loadouts is not something we’re doing for several reasons. I get that it might be disappointing but a straight no is better than no reply at all, I hope.”

This is obviously quite disappointing to fans who wanted loadouts added to the game. Odds are, Arrowhead will still add the mechanic but won’t add it for a while. There are plenty of different features the devs have been wanting to bring to fans such as the Illuminate which are still heavily rumored to be coming soon. Players have even found models of these enemies buried in the game files.
Arrowhead does seem to be doing better with Helldiver 2. Earlier in the day, Twinbeard said that he believes Arrowhead is “moving in the right direction” after the massive patch the devs released a few weeks ago. We will just have to see where Helldivers 2 goes in the future but it is looking promising.
