The latest Helldivers 2 major orders haven’t been going great and more will most likely be failed in the future thanks to the game losing players. Since the Sony fiasco, the Helldivers 2 player count has dropped to nearly half of what it was before the incident. Even before the Sony slip-up, the game was losing players. Those who still love the game like us may not like it but we will continue to have issues with major orders unless more players join the game. The only thing that can get us more recruits is for Arrowhead to add some more variety to the game.
In a recent post on Reddit, user unfortunate_bullseye shared a meme to vent out their frustration with the decreasing player count. Many in the comments immediately switched the topic to show what is driving players away – a lack of variety. Since the game launched, most of the fighting has taken place on the same planets, many of the weapons that players love get nerfed, and there haven’t been any new mission types.
One user commented, “There are damn near 100 planets but we keep playing on the same 9-10. We just need a solid storyline and the ILLUMINATE/4th faction.” Another user responded to this saying, “I don’t know about you all, but I really really want some city maps. Where you are running around through the bombed-out streets of massive cities, fighting Automatons.” We have to agree, some city maps would be amazing to play on, especially against bots.
Another user said the game losing players is because of weapon nerfs by saying, “The constant f***ing around with stuff that wasn’t even broken to begin with is what’s killing the game. Weapon nerfs suck, even if justifiable, but that alone makes the game slightly more difficult and creates an artificial meta.” Again, this is a sentiment that many have agreed with. If Arrowhead truly wants this game to last long, the devs will need to do something better than the Polar Patriots Warbond and add some variety to the game. If Arrowhead doesn’t spice things up soon, the game will lose all of its players in a matter of months.
