The monthly Warbond is something that many Helldivers 2 players look forward to. Unfortunately, since the release of the game, the Warbonds have steadily gone downhill in quality. The original Warbonds had players excited but by the time it reached Polar Patriots, the Warbonds were something players thought needed more time. With the announcement of the latest Warbond, Viper Commandos, we also got an update on how Warbonds will be rolled out. While some may be disappointed by the news, others should feel happy that Arrowhead is thinking more about quality rather than quantity.
Katherine Baskin, also known as Baskinator on social media platforms such as Reddit and Discord, posted all of the information about the new Warbond on the PlayStation Blog. As part of the post, she revealed new information about Warbonds going forward. Specifically, she stated, “We’re slowing down the pace at which we release Warbonds to give us a little bit more time to polish these designs before they’re released.”

In the past, players have suggested that Arrowhead “skip a Warbond” or two so that the devs can focus more on the quality of each Warbond. This appears to be what is going on as Baskin also stated that they “don’t want to rush anything out of the oven before it’s fully baked.” This comes after many players complained about the state in which the Polar Patriots Warbond was released in.
Baskinator continued on to say “We are changing the arrangement of items in each Warbond to make room for new item types, and also higher quality armor and weapons.” This will be a welcome change from the community as many have complained about the team re-using the Liberator. Additionally, getting more items such as skins and emotes would be great. Now if only we could get some weapon customization. Maybe Arrowhead will add that in the future.
