Just a day after announcing a Cowboy Bebop crossover event, Overwatch 2 has shown off a Porsche collaboration. Starting sometime after Season 10 starts in April, D.Va and one other character will get legendary skins based on the 2024 Porsche Macan all-electric vehicle. Additional cosmetics have also been teased, though we imagine them just to be sprays and smaller inclusions. The concept art for D.Va’s new skin is below.
As of this writing, we do not know who the other character is that is getting a Porsche-themed skin. The only other hero on the roster that uses a vehicle to move around is Wrecking Ball, so seeing a hamster rolling around in a luxury ball would be funny, though we’re not sure if that’s where they’re going with it. All of the details for the Overwatch 2 Porsche collaboration, including the price for these skins, will come after Season 10 starts.
Additionally, Blizzard has enlisted Onyx Forge Studios to make a lifelike 7-foot-tall statue of the Macan version of Tokki, which will appear at various events throughout the year. There’s no announcement of a super expensive smaller statue that you can buy for your home, at least yet. If you see this out in the wild, be sure to get some pictures.
Of the dozens of heroes on the Overwatch 2 roster, A Porsche collaboration definitely fits well with D.Va. We do kind of laugh whenever an unexpected crossover like this happens. It kind of reminds us of when Mercedes vehicles were added to Mario Kart 8. That said, we are happy to see more collaborations with the Overwatch media. With a K-pop group and a couple of anime collaborations already under the hood, the criteria for these crossovers is definitely expanding.
