The avatar update for Pokémon GO has officially been rolled out and fans of the popular mobile game are not happy. Some are even demanding their money back for items they have purchased while others just simply want the update to be taken back. Some players, however, are considering deleting the game thanks to how poorly their character looks.
Multiple posts have gone up on Reddit like the one posted below by user complexcarbohydrate. In this update, they share the before and after of their character. Once upon a time, their character had more curves and a better style. Now, their character looks like a nightmare. Others have commented on the post with one stating, “I’ve mitigated the damage; covered myself up and hid my face.”
Other posts about the update are just as bad. The post by Puzzleheaded_Swan526 shows a similar effect on their character where they turned into a box. Now they are “considering deleting this game.” As part of the post they added, “I’ve spent a lot of time and money on this game. This avatar update is absolutely ridiculous. How did they get it so wrong? The clothes don’t even fit anymore.”
One user is calling for players to run “leave a review on the App Store and tell them how you feel” in hopes that Niantic will turn back this update and fix the damage it has done. Another user posted an image of their character near one of the Team Rocket members with the comment, “She’s just standing there… Taunting me with those hips.”
Reddit has been flooded with images of once nice-looking characters ruined by the update. Some even think that Niantic will release an option to change your character back to its old look for a cost. We didn’t think the update would be this bad but after looking at all of these avatars, we don’t blame fans for being upset.
