Fallout 76 PSA: Lighting people on fire can sometimes be good

The newbies that flooded into Fallout 76 after the success of the Fallout TV show have a lot to learn. For instance, sometimes the aid of a veteran comes in the form of bathing you in holy fire. For those who have been scared, running for their lives, and ignoring the veterans of the game, we have a message for you; Fire is good! By that we mean, that sometimes it can heal you and you might not realize it.

This exact PSA was brought up by FlyingNope on Reddit in a recent post where they stated “People lighting you on fire are probably trying to heal you.” This is absolutely true. There is a perk called Friendly Fire that allows you to heal other players using fire damage. This means, the next time you see someone bathing you in red-hit flames, they are trying to help you out and not barbeque you.

PSA for new players: People lighting you on fire are probably trying to heal you.

One user responded to the PSA stating, “I’m flabbergasted how many new players seem to not notice their health bar magically refill after I toast ’em up.” We think this is because most players are focused on the fact that they were just lit ablaze. The fire might not be letting them think straight.

Another commented saying, “This also applies to when I spank you with my samurai sword. The samurai sword is actually a shishkebab and I have the Friendly Fire perk equipped.” Again, another fire weapon that heals those you hit with it as long as you have the correct perk. Typically, if you see a player running around with a large fire weapon like the Cremator, Flamer, Shishkebab, or any of the smaller weapons that can be applied with a fire mod, they most likely have the Friendly Fire perk equipped. Just pay attention to the words of the Fallout veterans so they can help you survive in Appalachia.
