A classic storytelling card game, For the Queen, has gotten an updated and revamped version by award-winning game designer Alex Roberts. Published through Darrington Press, this new version promises a complete visual redesign, a new card box, and improved card prompts all while keeping with the same easy-to-play format as the original.

For the Queen has 91 cards that come in a travel-ready box, making it perfect to play at conventions or at a friend’s house. It specifically has 25 uniquely illustrated Queen cards to help inspire your story. The game is very versatile, able to be played by only two players, small groups, or even large groups of more than six. It can take as little as 30 minutes or up to two hours. If you purchase the game through the Darrington Press stores, you’ll also get exclusive cards of even more Queens to choose from based off the game Queen by Midnight.

For the Queen is a story-telling based game. It tells the story of a Queen’s journey with her companions, which are the players at the table. Depending on the narrative of the game, you can either support or betray your ruler. There is no prep needed, making it an easy game to start. You begin by answering question cards to develop your world, your characters, and their relationships with one another and with the Queen. The cards take you on daring voyages and fun-filled adventures that can result in a tale of loyalty and friendship, or despair and deceit.

The card game is available through Darrington Press‘ online shops in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and the EU. Local game stores that carry similar products may also sell this game on their shelves. If you prefer a digital version over a physical one, you can purchase and play the game on Roll20. The game is approved for ages 13+ and is priced at $24.99, though the digital version is cheaper.

Will you defend the Queen or stand against her? The choice is yours in the creative card game For the Queen.
