A dedicated Pokémon Go player has completed the 150 Lucky Shiny Kanto Pokédex. More and more, the crowd of Pokémon players who want to fill out their Pokedéx with various special criteria is growing. Shiny hunting has become a popular objective for many people in the newer Pokémon games, but Lucky Pokémon is a feature exclusive to Pokémon Go.
Reddit user yakusokuN8 posted a screenshot of every Pokémon catchable Shiny and Lucky monster in Pokémon Go. Of the original 151 total monsters, only Mew cannot be traded, so that creature can’t be made Lucky, although you can find its Shiny. For that reason, the Kanto Pokédex has 150 total eligible Pokémon that can be Shiny and Lucky.
By this point, just about everyone knows that Shiny Pokémon are like regular Pokémon but with a different color. Lucky Pokémon are exclusive to Pokémon Go and can be obtained by trading with friends. For most trades, you have a very small chance of the traded Pokémon becoming Lucky, which makes it much easier to raise their Combat Power so they are better for battles. There are certain circumstances, though, where you can guarantee a Lucky Trade by becoming Lucky Friends with someone you play a lot of Pokémon Go with. When discussing their process of completing this collection, yakusokuN8 said that was how most of these Shiny Pokémon were made Lucky, although there were a few that were done through normal trades.
Unfortunately, yakusokuN8 didn’t have a complete timetable of how long they have been working on the Lucky Shiny Kanto Pokédex, but they did say they are focusing on the Johto collection next, which has a possible 99 available.
Whether it’s filling out Lucky Shiny Pokémon or spending thousands of dollars on Pokémon-themed jewelry, the “Gotta catch’em all” experience is alive and well with this mega-franchise.
