There are many resources that you will need to gather as you brave the elements in Smalland: Survive the Wilds. Many of the resources you can get will come from bugs and other small creatures with few of them coming from other sources. Flint is one of the few materials you can get from outside sources but you won’t be able to get it right away. You first need to craft the correct tools for the job. This guide will show you how to get flint in Smalland: Survive the Wilds.
Where to find flint in Smalland: Survive the Wilds
If you want to get your hands on some flint, you first need to know where you can find it. Luckily, it won’t be too far from where you spawn. After leaving the safety of the underground, you will be free to roam the map. Make your way south to the beaches. But tread carefully, as lizards and other creatures like to roam around these areas as well.
You will see plenty of flint scattered about the beaches in these areas. There are more beaches where flint can be located but these are some of the first you can reach in the game. You can also find a lot of stone which will come in handy later on in the game as well.
How to collect flint in Smalland: Survive the Wilds
To be able to collect flint, you first need to build the right tool for it. You need to get your hands on the lowest strength pickaxe which is called a Mandibular Pickaxe. To make one of these, you first need to craft a workbench. Once that is out of the way, you need to find some Bull Ants. This type of bug is easy to find and appears in many areas around the start of the game.
Defeating Bull Ants will get you Bull Ant Mandibles to use for the Mandibular Pickaxe. You will also need resin, wood, and fiber. Once you make a Mandibular Pickaxe, you will be able to break apart the flint stones to get yourself some flint. This will open up a whole new world of crafting recipes.
