Trailer 1 for the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto series will be released on Tuesday, December 5 at 9 a.m. ET. Last month Rockstar announced that we would get our first look at the next entry in the massively popular franchise in early December, but it wasn’t until now that the specific date and time was announced.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the next entry in the GTA series, which many assume will be called GTA6, after over 10 years between entries. While GTA Online has remained one of the most popular multiplayer games despite its age, the groundswell for a new entry reached a fever pitch when multiple videos and details illegally obtained from Rockstar were shared online.
Many were speculating on the exact timing of the reveal, with The Game Awards fitting inside that initial “early December” window. However, we can now confirm that Rockstar isn’t interested in sharing the spotlight and will instead release the trailer two days before the awards show. Besides the image with the date and time, no details on what will be included in the trailer itself. The palm tree and sunset imagery, however, may point to a certain setting that fans have been speculating on.
Whatever is shown in this trailer is sure to capture the entire internet’s attention. Each GTA launch has broken numerous records, and with such a long gap between entries, there’s a good chance this one will continue that trend.
