Rockstar just revealed a ton of new information for Grand Theft Auto 6 ahead of its pre-order period going live tomorrow. Within this wave of information, players can uncover a ton of exciting new details along with some worrying ones to boot. The biggest of which seems to be the fact that Rockstar is locking five stores behind the Ultimate edition’s $100 price tag.
Pay to Get in?
Upon breathing a massive sigh of relief that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be set at a reasonable price, gamers were quick to notice that not all is quiet on the home front. This is where players discovered that five stores in the game’s single-player mode will only be available to those who purchase the ultimate edition of the game. The stores in question include Rideout Customs (a mod shop for vehicles), Sara’s Unisex Salon, Stock 305 (a clothing store), Electric Fang Tattoo, and One-Eyed Willie’s (another vehicle mod shop for off-road vehicles).
At face value, most of these stores are merely cosmetic and should have no real impact on your gameplay. Where things start to get a bit more dicey is when we look into mod shops and how vehicle stats and performance could be altered. It is also worth noting that no mention of GTA Online was made here, so it has yet to be seen if any benefits will carry over to online play.
Options Upon Options
There shouldn’t be too much worry about a pay-to-win scandal boiling over for GTA 6, and I am very sure Rockstar took that into account here. But with no mention of GTA Online being made, we wonder if anyone will be willing to pay $100 to flex on NPCs within the single-player mode. But when you are just looking over the dizzying amount of available customization options available to the player, we are sure that would make anyone giddy at the prospect of what could be done within the world of Grand Theft Auto 6.
