Should you get branded in Baldur’s Gate 3? What is the Mark of the Absolute? Within the Goblin Camp in Act One, you can find Priestess Gut. If you speak to her, she will tell you that she can mark you with the Brand of the Absolute. There is a weird offer that shouldn’t be taken lightly. After all, there are some effects that come with this.

There are many choices in Baldur’s Gate 3 with the Absolute’s Brand being one of them. Other choices, like to spare the Owlbear Cub will also leave you guessing what to do. So what is the correct choice here if there even is one? Should you get branded in Baldur’s Gate 3? Here is what the Mark of the Absolute does.

What is the Mark of the Absolute in Baldur’s Gate 3?

The Mark of the Absolute in Baldur’s Gate 3, is a special marking that you can get from Priestess Gut. She can be found in the Shattered Sanctum which is the inside of the Goblin Camp. The Goblin Camp is a location you can visit during Act One. Talking to Priestess Gut will result in you getting told about the brand.

The Brand of the Absolute allows you to wield special equipment and get bonuses. This brand gives you access to the following items:

  • Absolute’s Warboard – Obtained from Priestess Gut
  • Faithbreaker – Maul dropped by Dror Ragzlin in the Shattered Sanctum
  • Gloves of Power – Dropped by Za’Krug outside the Druid’s Grove
  • Ring of Absolute Force – Located in Grymforge and dropped by Sergeant Thrinn
  • Vision of the Absolute – Forged by combining the two halves found on the body of Edowin in Druid’s Grove and the body of the Owlbear Mother

Those without the mark will not receive any of the benefits of these items should they use them.

Should you get the Mark of the Absolute in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Yes! Outside of a slight cosmetic change, there is no downside to being marked with the Brand of the Absolute. There are some NPCs that will comment on it, but we didn’t have any negative repercussions during our playthrough.

No matter if you are playing a character who is against the Absolute, you can get the brand and receive all of the benefits that come from using the items. This is similar to obtaining Volo’s Eye.
