The Call of Duty Zombies mode is making its way into the Modern Warfare series for the first time ever. With this transition, MW3 Zombies is doing a lot of things differently than you are used to. Don’t go into this expecting the same Zombies experience you have had in the past. Things will be much larger this time with an open world map to play through. However, with the scope changing, can you play Modern Warfare 3 Zombies in a private match just with your friends?
Can you play MW3 Zombies in a private match?
No, there is no private lobby for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies. As stated above, MW3 is doing things a lot differently this time, and the result will be an experience that some hardcore fans of the mode will likely not buy into.
MW3 Zombies can be more compared to a new take on DMZ or Warzone than the round-based mode you are used to. You and your squad of three will go into a large Warzone map and work alongside other teams as you fight off hordes of the undead. This take on the mode is specifically made to have 24 players in a game at once, so you can’t just play on the large map with just you and your squad. If you have that many friends around, there is also no way to set up your own lobby.
While Treyarch is helping make MW3 Zombies, most of the focus for the mode going forward will be on whatever its next mainline-developed game is, whether that is Black Ops V or something else. We view this as a little experiment as a stop-gap before we get the true next Zombies experience when that comes out.
