In Genshin Impact’s The Last Day of Remuria, you will meet the NPC Scylla, who has been a prisoner for 2000 years. Scylla is a felled dragon of the ancient civilization Remuria who has been betrayed by Boethius; in this quest, we’ll explain how you can break the chains that bind Scylla in Genshin Impact.
How to break the first Chain that Bind Scylla

To break the chains that bind Scylla, you must head to three locations in the Sea of Bygone Ears, Initium Iani. Each of these chains is easy to find, as all you need to do is follow the chain or the spirit to the location of the shackles. Follow the far left chain down to the spirit to break the first chain. Here, you will enter a cave that holds three enemies. After a short cutscene with Este, you will battle the first two legionnaires before battling Este. During this cutscene, you must gain his trust. The answers are as follows below:
- The Sebatos does not permit the harm of innocent people.
- Yet you are not receiving the melody.
- Phobos’s silence signifies rejection.
You will gain his trust if you get two of these questions right. After this, go to the rock formation and switch to your Symphony skill. You must then press the long hold to play the soundwave, removing the chain.
How to break the second Chain that Bind Scylla
When you follow the middle chain once again, you must defeat enemies similar to those at the previous chain. You will again make your way into the cave to defeat the golems. After defeating them, go to the rock formation and press long hold to play the soundwave, breaking the second chain.
How to break the final Chain that Bind Scylla

The final chain will be slightly more complicated. Switch to your Symphony skill and make your way to the Washer Octpi near the Resonate Anemone. Once they swim in a position that lights up the surrounding Resonate Anemone, use the Symphony skill to release a pause soundwave. Do this three times until all the Resonate Anemones light up. After this, you can go to the top of the rock formation and release a playing soundwave, which will break the final chain that binds Scylla.
Once you break the final chain, a cutscene will play, signaling the start of the next quest. It does not matter in which order you break the chains that bind Scylla in Genshin Impact. As long as they are broken, you will progress with the story. Each time after you chains that bind Scylla, a chest will spawn, providing you with rewards.
