Managing your furniture in The Sims 4 is an important task and helps you get the most enjoyment out of the game. Whether you worked hard to get your items or used “rosebud” to obtain vast wealth, putting everything in the right place will allow your Sims to enjoy their life better. However, what if you want to change the size of things? You can alter how large items are within your house. Here is how to make objects bigger in The Sims 4.

How to make items larger in The Sims 4

To make objects bigger in The Sims 4, follow the steps below:

  1. Enter Build Mode by selecting the tool icon at the top of the screen.
  2. Select the item you want to enlarge. Your cursor will become a hand and hold onto the item for you to drag around after you click on it.
  3. On PC, hold Shift and press ] to make it grow.
    1. Hold Shift and press [ to make it shrink.
  4. On console, hold L2+R2 or LT+RT and press right on the d-pad to make it larger.
    1. Hold L2+R2 or LT+RT and press left on the d-pad to make it smaller.
      1. We also noticed that since you are pressing both shoulder buttons, this will also mess with your grid, so press them again after you have the item the size you want it.

Not every object in the game can be made bigger. For example, if you are trying to grow your counters or fridge, the game might leave them the same size when you put the input in. That said, we haven’t too much of a problem with this with most decoration items. Of course, the bigger you make an item, the more space it will require to be able to place it back down in your house and save your selection.
