Have you gotten your hands on that stinky, smelly, Meat Bait in Dead Island 2? This not-so-delicious throwable item is what is known as a Curveball. Curveballs are throwable weapons in Dead Island 2 that each have their own unique effect. For instance, the Shuriken can be thrown out to hit multiple zombies with devastating cuts, and the Chem Bomb can be used to dampen zombies and put out fires. The Meat Bait is more of an insurance policy to help protect yourself from ravenous undead monsters. This guide will show you how to use Meat Bait in Dead Island 2.
How to unlock Meat Bait in Dead Island 2
Meat Bait is one of the easiest of the Curveballs to unlock because it is handed to you during the story. You literally cannot miss this item. As you progress through the game, you will eventually get to Emma’s house and meet an NPC by the name of Carlos. This kind man acts as a merchant during your time in Hell-A. When you first meet him, he will be standing behind the bar.
During your first interaction with Carlos, he will give you the Meat Bait and the blueprints for Med Kits for free. After this, the Meat Bait will be in your inventory and you will be able to use it.
How to use Meat Bait in Dead Island 2
To use the Meat Bait, you simply throw it out like you would any other Curveball. On PC, this button defaults to the Q key. On Xbox and PlayStation, this is done using RB or R1.
Meat Bait is used to lure zombies away from you. If you need a quick and easy means of escape, simply throw this out and it will lure the zombies away from you. Keep in mind that not every zombie will be affected by this so don’t go throwing it out in all situations. Sometimes it is best to use a Chem Bomb.
