Taking care of yourself in Starfield is just as important as in real life. If your character is afflicted with a negative status effect, it will affect their performance in various areas. With that in mind, be sure to take care of those problems as soon as possible. If you notice that you have picked up some Lung Damage along with a cough, your CO2 intake will be sporadic and generally annoying. Here is how to get rid of Lung Damage in Starfield.

How to heal Lung Damage in Starfield

There are a couple of methods to cure Lung Damage in Starfield. The first and easiest way to get rid of it is to use an Injector. You might find these items in various medical areas, but you can buy them from doctors and general stores. We recommend going to Reliant Medical, which is very close to the Lodge on Jemison. Be sure to stock up on these to quickly get rid of Lung Damage, as well as Brain Injury, Concussion, Heatstroke, Hernia, Hypothermia, Poisoning, and Radiation Poisoning.

The second way to get rid of Lung Damage in Starfield is to pay a doctor to cure you. Again, for an easy doctor to reach, go to Reliant Medical near the Lodge and tell him you need help. If you want to take care of just that status effect, it should set you back about 500 Credits in our instance, but it may be more if you have a more serious case.

From what we have seen, you get the Lung Damage effect when you are out in a desert storm. If you see a bunch of sand being whipped around, you can take on a cough regardless if you have a spacesuit on. Our best recommendation for when this happens is to try to stick to indoor areas and use fast travel if you can to avoid putting your lungs under stress. If you are properly stocked up on Injectors, you shouldn’t have to deal with the problem for long, though.
