If you want to get from point A to point B quicker in Palworld, you will want a mount. Sure, you can run around on foot, but things are much easier when you can command a Pal to move for you. That is why it is important to know how to unlock mounts and ride them.

There are multiple Pals that can be used as mounts. For instance, you can use Melpaca earlier on in the game to quickly get around the map. Doing so also unlocks the abilities Fluffy Tackle and Air Cannon. Of course, it helps if you know how to catch Pals. This guide will show you how to unlock mounts in Palworld. Get ready to travel in style.

How to unlock and ride mounts in Palworld

In Palworld, certain Pals can be used as mounts. These are typically equestrian-style Pals like Melpaca or Eikthyrdeer. You can also ride Pals such as Grizzbolt and Jetragon. To unlock these mounts, you must first catch one of these Pals. Doing so will unlock the ability to craft a saddle. Note that you need to be a specific level to unlock and craft certain saddles.

Saddles can be built at a Pal Gear Workbench. Once you build a saddle, it will unlock the mount ability for the Pal you build the saddle for. For instance, a Melpaca Saddle will allow you to ride Melpaca.

Now that you have a saddle made, summon your Pal, walk up to it, and interact with it using the X button or the F key. This will allow you to hop onto your Pal and ride it around. While riding a Pal, you can use ranged weapons such as bows and guns. You can also use the Pal’s abilities. For example, while riding Melpaca, you can use the Air Cannon ability to attack other Pals.
