Pokémon Legends: Z-A has been announced with very little information surrounding it. We know the game is the next step from Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which incorporated a new style of adventuring the landscape and catching Pokémon outside of battles. We also know that Lumiose City, featured in Pokémon X and Y, will be the hub for the area. How about when it comes out, though? Here is what we know about the Pokémon Legends: Z-A release date.
When does Pokémon Legends: Z-A release?
Unfortunately, we don’t have an exact release date for Pokémon Legends: Z-A yet. That said, we do know the game is expected to come out sometime in 2025. It is highly doubtful that we will learn more about the game until late 2024 at the earliest.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus was released in January 2022, but we would caution being optimistic about another early-year release. Arceus was put out as a new experience for the Pokémon games. For the most part, these big games are typically released in the fall, typically October or November. Of course, there are standouts, but like many other big games, Pokémon likes to hit that holiday rush. Speaking speculatively, we expect Pokémon Legends: Z-A to release in that timeframe unless there are any unforeseen delays, of course.
We would say that it is pretty important that Pokémon Legends: Z-A releases in a good state. While Legends: Arceus and Scarlet and Violet were received well for the changes in exploration they brought to the series; there were a lot of comments about poor performance and bugs. We would hope that the Pokémon Company and Game Freak are not rushing this title. Who knows, maybe we could see a Pokémon game be a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2.
