As you travel throughout The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you will encounter countless puzzles. There are so many things different aspects of the world that you can interact with that it can be hard to know what everything is for. If you have come across a pinwheel in the wild, you likely will notice that that has been placed there for a reason. Here is what the pinwheels in Breath of the Wild are for.
What are the pinwheels for in Breath of the Wild?
If you have found a pinwheel in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you have found one of the many locations where you can earn a Korok seed by completing a puzzle. These pinwheels will pop up an aiming challenge for you. When you stand close to one, look around the area and you should see either some target balloons appear and fly around or some nuts being thrown into the air.

All you need to do when you see your targets is to hit them all with an arrow. It doesn’t matter how many shots you take; any ammunition will work as long as you hit the target. When all have been destroyed, the Korok will appear, and you will get your seed.
There are quite a few pinwheels you can find around the map in Breath of the Wild. They spin on their own and are activated when you stand next to them, so no special steps are needed. If you don’t see the targets, spin your camera around until you find them.
