There are so many different elements to keep in mind while playing Baldur’s Gate 3. As you build your character, you will find many different effects from various items and abilities that can be hard to understand. One of these is Radiating Orb, which can appear with items like Luminous Armor, Luminous Gloves, and the Sacred Star. While these items will say the effect has taken place, it doesn’t really explain what it does to them. Here is what Radiating Orb does in Baldur’s Gate 3.
What is Radiating Orb for in BG3?
Radiating Orb in Baldur’s Gate 3 is an effect that will be applied to an enemy when activated. Like with the Luminous Gloves shown above, when our Shadowheart deals Radiant damage, the enemy gets the Radiating Orb for two turns. When active, the enemy with the orb will have a -1 to their attack rolls, and the area around them will be lit up more. This makes it particularly useful against enemies who will weaken when in the sunlight.
Giving the enemy a -1 to their attack rolls isn’t a massive debuff, but it can be the slight difference between one of your party members being hit by an attack or not. Luckily, this effect can be combined with additional Radiant Orbs and other effects to make it even easier to avoid enemy assaults. An enemy can have a ton of Radiant Orbs on them at a time, so go wild if you have the chance.
We found Radiating Orb is an effect that works best with Clerics. Get a bunch of Radiating Orb status effects from various items and abilities and you can make it very difficult for the enemy to hit your team.
