Baldur’s Gate 3 is filled with a host of fascinating NPCs. One of them is Halsin, a powerful druid of the Emerald Grove. A few teiflings will tell you where he is, but you might’ve passed by his location a couple of times. So where do you find Halsin in Baldur’s Gate 3?
Who is Halsin?
Halsin is the First Druid of the Emerald Grove — AKA the leader of these forest-dwelling folk. He went out on an expedition to the goblin camp and never came back. Whether you visit the Emerald Grove first or the goblin camp, that’s where you’ll find him, imprisoned. He will be in his bear form. Nothing’s quite as exciting as a man who can turn into a bear. An important thing to know about Halsin, though, is that he struggles to stay in his human form during times of great emotion.
Halsin’s Location in Baldur’s Gate 3
Once you enter the goblin camp, you’ll find Halsin by the Worg’s Pen. The exact pathing is:
- Enter the Shattered Sanctum
- Walk past Priestess Gut’s throne
- Cross the wooden bridge on the right
- Go inside the Worg’s Pen door
- Rescue Halsin from the goblins around his cage (He will be in bear form)
- Kill the goblin leaders as Halsin requests
- Meet him back at Emerald Grove
If you struggle to find Halsin, you might still be able to save him. If you raze the goblin camp and destroy its leaders, Halsin will escape on his own and head back to Emerald Grove. You can meet him there once you return to the encampment.
Can you recruit Halsin?
Yes, but much further into the game. Also, you must save him from the goblin camp to have a chance at recruiting him. He will not tolerate the goblin leaders surviving. When it comes time to recruit Halsin, it’ll be in Act 2. You have to head to Last Light Inn and help him save a boy named Thaniel in the Shadowfell region.
Moreover, for Baldur’s Gate 3 romance enthusiasts, Halsin is the origin of the famous bear scene. So if you have any interest in animalistic intimacy, recruiting him is a must.
