During the Summer Game Fest showcase on June 5th, 2026, it came as a big surprise to see a teaser trailer for Resident Evil Veronica – the remake of the popular Code Veronica game originally released in 2000. For months leading up to the announcement, leaks from user DuskGolem on X stated that there would be a Code Veronica remake coming in 2027. Shortly after, everyone could look forward to a remake of the very original Resident Evil title. One of these rumors turned out to be true, and Resident Evil Veronica was announced to be coming in 2027, but no official release date was given alongside the announcement – just a broad window.
Dusk Golem is back with more information about the upcoming remake. However, the new information is a bit disheartening, as it appears that the remake is being pushed back to a later date than they originally expected.
Leaker Shares Information About Resident Evil Veronica Release Date
Dusk Golem, known for sharing information about the Resident Evil franchise, as well as correctly leaking small tidbits of information about upcoming releases, has shared more information about Resident Evil Veronica. In a recent post on X, Dusk Golem stated, “Oh boy, well I’ve heard it three times from three different people now, so I guess I have potentially bad news to report on Resident Evil Veronica.”
The bad news they are referring to is that they have been told that Resident Evil Veronica’s release date has been shifted to fall 2027. It still falls into the original 2027 window, but at a much later time than Dusk Golem had originally stated.
Resident Evil Veronica was supposedly meant to be shown off during Tokyo Game Show this year, but was apparently pulled because of the shift in the release date. This doesn’t change anything, as no official release date was given yet but it does leave the door open for the release of Resident Evil Veronica to possibly be pushed to 2028 as well if things take longer than expected.
