Helldivers 2 players want audio cues for heavy enemies

Have you ever noticed how quiet the Automatons can be in Helldivers 2? That is exactly why some players are calling on the devs to add in more audio cues so that they can tell when larger enemies are approaching. They have pointed out that a lot of the game is reliant on audio cues and that it ignores the ones that matter. For instance, when an Automaton Hulk appears all you can hear is the laughing before a scorcher barbeques you.

In a post created by Obvious_Ad4159 on Reddit, they pointed out in a rant that it is nearly impossible to hear any of the larger Automatons but you can hear the Terminids from a mile away. They stated, “You can hear Chargers run, Titans too, but somehow the Hulks and Walkers are dead silent.”

One user responded to the rant by stating, “As someone said they sometimes make noise. But laughing (Hulk Scorcher) is very rare. And the mechanical noise they make is the same as with any automation, so you can’t use that to discern them apart from the others. Also, by the time you hear them laugh, you’re already in flamethrower range.” Another user pointed out, “They’re so heavy bot hulks and factory walkers should shake the earth if you’re in their vicinity.”

Another player commented on the laughing of the Hulks with confusion, stating “The Hulks laugh? I’ve never heard that. Probably because I’m in a gunfight, and those tend to be louder than a little laugh.” It is obvious that fans are demanding more audio cues when taking on the massive threat that is the Automatons. It shouldn’t be a surprise that we have a more difficult time dealing with these beings. After all, all of our training has been to fight Terminids. We weren’t even prepared for this threat.
