Baldur’s Gate 3 has been an absolute treat for gamers since it was released back in August 2023. Since then, Larian Studios has released multiple updates, giving the game some fresh content, additional dialogue, and more. While there will be no DLC added to the game, that won’t stop Larian from improving upon what it has already made. In a Steam community post, the studio shared what is to come in the next update.
The main focus of patch 7 is improved evil endings for those who want to take the darker path in the game. Not only will this improve the endings for those who want to play as the Dark Urge, but it will also add more to those who just have a darker playstyle. As part of the teaser for patch 7, Larian included two GIFs that show the Dark Urge absorbing some sort of magic from an audience as well as another shot of the Dark Urge walking through a large pool of blood during what appears to be an eclipse. On top of these additions, Larian will be adding in new musical scores by award-winning composer, Borislav Slavov. Here is a sample of the new song March of Darkness.
Don’t think the additions stop there. Larian also stated that patch 7 will fix several bugs, “including Jaheira’s unwillingness to follow the group and jump into combat, Wyll’s less-than-romantic greetings, as well as the mysteriously disappearing Narrator lines from the Gortash and Dark Urge confrontation, to name a few.”
Finally, Larian announced that this next update will include “official modding tools, letting you change up visuals, animations, sounds, stats, and more to overhaul Baldur’s Gate 3 into the weird nightmare realm of your dreams.” Mod support was teased earlier this year and it is nice to see Larian live up to it by adding it into the game with the next patch.
