Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen a wide range of gameplay clips that were published by the faceless leaker known as ‘CYBERLEEK’. Despite being just over a week into leaks, Rockstar remained eerily quiet regarding an official response to their hard work being tarnished. That all changed today, though, as Rockstar Games has officially responded to the Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks that have gripped the gaming world one day before their grand Netflix showcase.
Heartbreak Medication
Tomorrow, Rockstar and Take-Two are set to release a deep dive into GTA 6 on Netflix that will give fans the best look at the game to date. While it may be easy to say any footage we see tomorrow can overshadow the leaks we’ve gotten over recent weeks, that still doesn’t take the sting away from the hard-working developers who’ve all put a lot of work into this very moment. And it’s that same sentiment that can be felt in Rockstar’s official response posted on their X account early this morning.
“It would be an understatement to say that having videos of Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay leak in this way has been heartbreaking for our team, and this is obviously not how we intended for you to see the game after all this time,” the company says.
The Show Goes On
On the surface, it may seem like everything is on fire for Rockstar as footage continues to make its way online. But despite all that, Grand Theft Auto 6 will more than likely go on to break records for units sold and will most likely go down as the biggest video game release of all time. It just so happens that these leaks will act as a slight blemish on its resume for the rest of time.
