Despite Ubisoft’s efforts, the Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag remake continues to be the worst-kept secret in gaming. Today, eagle-eyed fans spotted new promo art for the game, and select members of the media got to see an exclusive demo that highlights just how much work was put into this highly anticipated remake.

Time to Set Sail!

Spotted on r/GamingLeaksAndRumors, a slip-up involving a listing for Assassin’s Creed Blak Flag Resynced appeared on the Ubisoft launcher earlier today but has since been taken down. This didn’t stop players from grabbing a screenshot of this promo art, which gave us our first taste of this brand-new adventure. The poster features Edward Kenway in a newly minted black and gold outfit, and the description states, “Set sailed for the Caribbean. (Re)Play this classic swashbuckling adventure Day 1 with Ubisoft+ Premium.”

Shortly after this news broke, Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson released an exclusive report that stated the game will be released on July 9th, 2026. Henderson also stated that Ubisoft’s original plan for the game was to reveal it on April 16th. Things changed behind the scenes, and Ubisoft opted to delay the announcement until the following week. Today, the media, along with various content creators, received a roughly 30-minute presentation on the game. Coming out of this event, the one main takeaway people have is that there is a lot more content and updates added to the game than originally believed.

New Adventures Await You

Following the massive restructuring that occurred at Ubisoft, many fans were worried about the status of the Black Flag remake. This is mainly in part due to the scarce amount of information regarding when and where we’d finally see this game. Fans can rest easy now, not only knowing that the game is real, but our first real look at it is just a mere few days away.
