Grand Theft Auto fans are foaming at the mouth for any morsel of information that pertains to Grand Theft Auto 6. For now, the game is set to release on November 19th, and fans still don’t have any means to pre-order the game that is mere months away. But a new alleged leak suggests that the pre-order date is just around the corner and could signal another trailer drop as soon as next week.
The Calm Before The Storm
According to GTA6Alerts on X, pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto 6 are set to go live next week, starting on May 18th, 2026. The specific date was uncovered via a Best Buy email that was allegedly sent out by mistake to consumers. Insider Gaming was also able to verify the information, as the email was received by affiliates who forwarded it as proof. The email in question stems from Impact, which is one of the leading affiliate marketplaces.
We can also safely assume that if the date in question turns out to be true, the highly anticipated trailer 3 for Grand Theft Auto 6 could drop on that same day. As for the contents of this trailer, it is safe to assume the gameplay of Grand Theft Auto 6 should be on full display, as we already have a ton of story context to go off of. As for Rockstar, this will be yet another viral hit as trailer 2 for GTA 6 garnered over 160 million views on YouTube alone.
Here Comes The Money
We can all agree that Grand Theft Auto 6 is going to be one of, if not the biggest, video game releases of all time. With that comes great expectations in the revenue department for shareholders over at Take-Two. For now, they can rest easy, as the initial leak about the pre-order date boosted Take-Two’s stock price from $10.79 a share to $245.07. That jump alone added $2 billion in market value to the company without the game having hit the market yet. And to give more hope to those looking to pre-order GTA 6 next week, Take-Two is holding its next earnings call on Thursday, May 21st, so it seems like the perfect storm is about to ensue.
We Are in the End Game Now
We can all clearly see that excitement is in the air for Grand Theft Auto 6 from fans and clearly shareholders. And while Rockstar themselves haven’t outright confirmed anything as far as pre-orders go, this should all be taken with a massive grain of salt. But with an earnings call shortly after the proposed pre-order date, one could be led to believe this was all done according to plan for Rockstar.
