When you start up the DLC, you will be given a mission called “The Invitation.” During this mission, you must complete the Rites of Passage so you can gain access to “The Deeper.”

How to complete the Rites of Passage in Dead Island 2
When you enter the Cul de Sac area, you will be told to complete the Rites of Passage so you can gain access to The Deeper. The homes in the area contain everything you need to succeed. Let’s break down each trial to see if you are ready to join the cult.
Rite of Passage: Destroy a Cherished Item with Fire
The first trial can be found by entering the first house on the right. Once you are inside, head up the stairs and make your way to the attic. Here, there is a cremation chamber. You will hear audio and then get the objective to destroy a cherished item with fire.
To destroy an item, go downstairs to the hallway and pick up the valve wheel in the closet. Pick up the valve wheel and install it on the cremation chamber in the attic. Once you turn on the flames, you will get a prompt to toss a weapon into the flames. You can’t just simply drop a weapon in the chamber and you can’t scrap a weapon.
Rite of Passage: Endure Agony
With the first trial complete, go outside and enter the second house on the left. Go past the staircase and down to the basement. Here, you will get a second audio recording and get the objective of enduring agony. To do this, go up through the house to the attic. Once there, pick up the water can and toss it on the electrical wire.
With the circuit complete, go back to the basement. All you need to do now is stand in the pool of water until the objective is complete. Make sure to have some med kits for when you are done with this trial.
Rite of Passage: Confess
Once you are done with the second trial, go through the iron bar door in the basement near the pool of water. Follow this path to the house next door. After entering the basement, you will be locked in. Survive in the basement while a hoard of zombies attacks. Afterward, go upstairs and make your way to the attic.
You will get another audio recording. Afterward, all you need to do is interact with the microphone in the room. You will need to do this a few times to finish the rite of passage. Once it is complete, zombies will attack you and you will be allowed into the house on the hill. Ignore the house with the brain, you will be able to access it later once you have unlocked the K-Prototype crossbow.
