How to get the Compound Bow plans in Fallout 76
If you want to build a Compound Bow in Fallout 76, you will need to grind reputation. Specifically, you will need to build up your reputation with either the Raiders or the Settlers. Doing this will allow you to get the plans for the Compound Bow.
The plans for the Compound Bow will become unlocked at either the Raiders vendor or the Settlers vendor if you have reached the rank of ally with them. Once this has been done, you can travel to whichever faction’s vendor. For the Raiders, you will need to speak to Ae-Ri. For the Settlers, the vendor is Sunny.
Both vendors will sell the Compound Bow plans to you for 1,000 Caps so make sure you have plenty saved up. If not, you won’t be able to buy the plans. With the plans unlocked, you will be able to build a Compound Bow by going to a weapons workbench somewhere around the map or at your camp. Having these plans unlocked will also allow you to get legendary Compound Bows as rewards for completing events and as a reward from the Purveyor if you have enough Scrip.
