Halloween: The Game was revealed in 2025 and is based on the iconic horror movie franchise starring Michael Myers. This 1v4 horror game was featured in the Future Games Show on June 6th, and shortly after, it was revealed that pre-orders are available now and the game will be dropping in early September.

Dying to Pre-Order

It was officially revealed that Halloween: The Game is releasing on September 8th, and those who pre-order will be able to play it four days early on September 4th. Alongside this release date announcement, pre-order bonuses were revealed as well in the form of the Phantom Michael Myers skin. If you happen to pre-order the deluxe edition of the game, you will also receive an exclusive inmate Michael Myers skin and two exclusive civilian characters: Richard and Alexis. The game’s website also indicated that “more surprises” are to come.

Halloween: The Game is often compared to Dead by Daylight as it features a heavy emphasis on its 1v4 multiplayer mode. But unlike Dead by Daylight, Halloween will feature a full-fledged story campaign. The trailer released specifically for this campaign indicated that it will fully adapt the events of the 1978 film.

A Scary Good Time

We happened to get our hands on Halloween while at PAX East, and it was a standout title among our team. Michael controlled exactly how you’d want him to, feeling like an unstoppable tank amongst the crowd with all the spooky abilities to boot. As for the civilians, they felt strong enough to hold their own and outwit the killer just long enough to make their escape or call in reinforcements. IllFonic picked the perfect time to release this title, as spooky season will be just around the corner, and so will Michael.
